CNC Turner - Programmer/Setter/Operator
We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner for an established local manufacturing company. Must excel in precision engineering, turning processes, and tight tolerances. Our candidate specialises in high-quality components for Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Defence. Requirements include programming, operating 2-axis machines, in-process inspection, and interpreting engineering drawings. Familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus. Strong working history in manufacturing is necessary. Salary range £32-£38k/year with benefits including pension, healthcare, and generous holiday allowance.
Experience Required:
- Proven expertise in programming, setting, and operating 2-axis turning machines.
- Ability to manually write new CNC programs at the machine and edit preexisting programs, encompassing full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Conduct in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
- Produce precision parts in low to medium volume across various metals.
- Strong understanding of 2-axis CNC machines, cutting speeds, feeds, and geometric tolerances.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
- Experience using following Lathes would be desired: Colchester / Biglia / Tuscan / Combi / Alpha / Excel / Goodway
- History of manufacturing within a machine shop environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on, quality-driven, positive, self-motivated approach.
- Comfortable working on parts up to ¢300mm x 3m, with provided lifting equipment and hoist training available.
Package and Benefits:
· Salary depending on experience. Range £32-£38k per annum.
· The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
· Hours are Monday – Thursday 8.00am-5.00pm, Friday 8am – 2.30pm
· Holidays are 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays + Bonus holiday over the Christmas Period
