The Client

Our client has over 20 years’ of experience in all types of survey work and prides itself on providing good quality, accurate surveys to their customers across a variety of industries, including transport, construction, building, and property.

The Role

Our client is seeking an expereinced utility surveyor to join a skilled and dedicated team as a Utility Surveyor, based in North West England. This role involves delivering comprehensive Utility, Topographical, and Geophysical services across the UK for our client. The successful candidate will work in various sectors, such as major infrastructure for highways and rail, nuclear construction, and both onshore and offshore energy projects, contributing to environmental solutions.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities/Specific Duties:

  • Demonstrate proficiency and confidence in various Utility Survey techniques, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Location (EML).
  • Conduct PAS128 Utility and Clearance surveys efficiently. Use GPS or Total Station equipment for tracing services.
  • Handle post-processing of GPR data.
  • Engage with clients and main contractors during project phases.
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety guidelines and advocate for our client’s full range of services.
  • Support business development and client relations in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Assist in guiding technical and professional growth within the team.
  • Aid in quality control by reviewing and approving drawings and reports with the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognised training scheme (QCF Level 3 or equivalent NVQ in Utility Mapping).
  • Possess a full UK Driving Licence.

Requirements

  • Sufficient fitness to perform site-based tasks in varied environments, including active construction sites and extensive linear projects.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant field and industry experience.
  • Deep knowledge of PAS128 standards and the ability to apply health, safety, and environmental laws effectively.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office for comprehensive reporting and communication.
  • Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Mandatory Training:

  • Our client’s Online Health & Safety Training Modules.
  • Our client’s Online HR Policies Awareness modules, both provided by the company.
