Technical Design Engineer

£25,000 to £32,000 per annum

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Our client, a Wokingham based security business with over 6 decades in the industry, are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their technical team as a Technical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

As a Technical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of their innovative products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet the highest standards of functionality, performance, and reliability. Your expertise will be essential in driving projects from concept to completion.

Duties:

• Design and develop new products.
• Assist with improving existing products and managing drawing changes.
• Code products and create bills of materials for custom orders.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments.
• Perform occasional assembly/production tasks and possible on-site visits.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Qualification in mechanical engineering, product design, or electrical engineering (ONC, HNC, or Degree).
• Creativity, logical thinking, and a practical approach with a keen interest in technology.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage costs while ensuring quality, longevity, and customer reliability.
• Collaborative team player.
• Interface with sales and marketing to deliver product information.
• Experience with 3D CAD design.
• Organised and tidy.
• Proactive, driven, and dynamic with a can-do attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and team spirit.
