Our client, a leading market player in the energy storage sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to join their innovative team. In this role, you will oversee and drive the mechanical engineering efforts for our cutting-edge energy storage platform. You will lead a talented team of engineers, drive product design and development, and ensure the highest standards of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the platform mechanical engineering teams, overseeing the design of parts and assemblies using CAD (e.g., Solidworks).
  • Undertake, lead, review, and approve structural and loading analysis for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Produce, review, and sign off on internal and external release drawings.
  • Manage a small to medium-sized team of mechanical and analysis engineers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Interface with suppliers and fabricators during engineering and manufacturing release phases, ensuring seamless integration and quality control.
  • Drive and adhere to the stage-gated engineering cycle, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and objectives.
  • Raise, review, and approve Change Requests as part of Engineering Change Management processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience of progressive experience in mechanical engineering leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in leading teams and implementing Change Management processes within a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solidworks, and familiarity with other CAD packages.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems to manage design data and documentation.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Heat Transfer principles is advantageous.
