The Opportunity

We now have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our existing engineering team at our Callow Quarry, near Cheddar. Our Callow Quarry is a Limestone quarry where with the assistance of our engineering team you’ll help to keep our operations running.

You’ll be a part of our rotating Monday-Friday shift where you’ll operate on;

Week one: 06:00-15:30

Week two: 07:00-17:00

Week three: 12:30-22:00

Across this 36 hectare site (that's roughly 45 football pitches) You’ll attend reactive maintenance breakdowns on various pieces of fixed equipment, such as; Crushers, Screeners, Conveyor Systems. As well as our fleet of 20 mobile plant (excavators & Dump Trucks). You'll follow a planned maintenance schedule to help build reliability of equipment onsite and work along side the team on projects such as new machinery installation. 

With a focus on Health & Safety across our business this role is no different, you’ll carry out all repairs safely and continue to maintain a hazard free environment.

Who you are

You’ll be an existing Mechanical Fitter, from an industrial/ manufacturing environmental or from a transferable industry such as agricultural or HGV or Military background. 

You’ll be apprentice trained, or hold a Level 2 (or higher) Mechanical qualification.

You’ll ideally have some basic fabrication skills, however we can provide training where required.
