Junior Hardware Engineer

Location: Ascot

My client who are based in Ascot are seeking a Junior Hardware Engineer to join their fast growing team. The main role of the Junior Engineer is to develop practical experience fulfilling various tasks ranging from assisting the Engineer, project work and tasks, reviewing methods of work, administration and managing reports and data.  This will include performing all practical and administrative duties assigned by manager/engineer. To apply for this you will need to be a self starter and have a keen interest/knowledge of Hardware Engineering.

Responsibilities

Assess hardware and troubleshoot with the guidance of the Engineer

To shadow the engineer for repairs until competent whilst being monitored with the aim to complete repairs with minimal supervision

Completing all tasks set by Engineer/Manager and assisting wherever possible.

Working closely with others to foster professional values and build good relationships.

Maintain standards of safety and comply with the Company’s health, safety and environment management systems requirements. 

Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the repair area

Build and maintain knowledge level of Maintenance Reports and Technical Information Notices

Must be willing to invest time and commitment to learn and develop in the role

To undertake any other duties reasonable to the job level as deemed appropriate by the Company

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Ideally some work experience in a hardware servicing role (monitors), or an interest in building hardware

Keen to train and develop skillsets in building hardware, maintenance and support experience. 

Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, CRMs would be desirable.

A keen interest in problem solving and technology

Proactive with a positive can do attitude and a strong team player

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions

High attention to detail and level of accuracy

Logical and organised, excellent at multi-tasking, able to plan and structure their day to enable all SLAs to be met

Proactive, analytical with organisational and problem-solving skills
