Are you a Manufacturing Engineering professional with strong experience of working in Composite Manufacturing, looking for an exciting new role within a market-leading business offering the chance to join a growing team?

You will be responsible for the manufacture of complex carbon fibre reinforced plastic structures such as the chassis, gearbox carrier, wings, and engine components. In this role, you will support the engineering activities within manufacture and the development of manufacturing methods and processes, along with problem solving, root cause analysis, continuous improvement methodologies and business critical projects.

Your Role:

  • Manufacture of complex carbon fibre reinforced plastic structures such as the chassis, gearbox carrier, wings, and engine components.
  • Problem solving; run root cause analysis to troubleshoot cleanroom manufacturing issues and process improvements.
  • Backend design work, supplying designs to the laminating team for manufacture.
  • Small/large scale projects including how to improve manufacturing, cost cutting and sustainability.
  • Leading technical capability projects in line with the development of their manufacturing strategy.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the developments within the composite industry and identify technology, equipment, processes that could increase the capability of the team.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • A few years' experience at an early stage of their Composite Manufacturing career.
  • Relevant composite experience is highly advantageous - for example, 'hand lay-up composites'
  • Understanding of RCCA principles including practical problem solving and continuous improvement is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to use 3DX, CATIA V5 or similar CAD package such as Solidworks, Siemens NX, Creo or AutoCAD.
  • F1 experience desirable, however industries such as Aerospace are highly transferable and of interest for this position.
