Due to continued growth we now need to recruit a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator who has experience pricing future work, extra scope and variations to work on the AOMR Framework, as part of the Environment Agency Framework. The Asset Operational Maintenance and Response contract involves schemes both planned and Emergency with values up to £1m. Jackson Civil Engineering have been awarded three ‘hubs’, covering the Midlands, East and Southeast of the country. Works may be Client or Contractor designed. The role will involve both the initial pricing of schemes both direct award and competitively tendered, along with the commercial management of those schemes through to completion.

Location to be Tamworth as a base, with some travel to Huntingdon, Peterborough, or similar.  There will be the occasional need to attend meetings and reviews at head office in Ipswich.

Other main duties include:

  • Contract management for orders.
  • Contract administration.
  • Involvement with target cost setting, checking, and establishing thereof.
  • Subcontract procurement and management of early works.
  • Liaison with the regions during construction phase - 2-way knowledge transfer
  • Liaison with JCE estimating department where required. Whilst smaller contracts we expect the candidate to prices, larger schemes will involve input from JCE’s central estimating team.
  • Team management
  • Client interface
  • Performance and financial management and tracking to maximise KPI returns.
  • Standard QS functions in terms of monthly reporting, management, variations etc

We are looking for someone with experience as an estimator and also some exposure as a Quantity Surveyor. Ambitious individual with great communication skills, who is confident with a flexible approach. Must have experience working on civil engineering schemes with a main contractor.
